A Beginners Guide To Vaping

Let’s Talk Juice

E-liquid also known as e-juice is what creates the amazing flavours you may smell sometimes in passing with a vape user in the street. The e-liquid is put into your vaping device and heated up, the heat then converts it into vapour. E-liquids come in all kinds of flavours including different types of nicotine strengths, but we will get into that later.

So first of all, let’s discuss the e-liquid and what it’s actually made of. E-liquid will often come mixed with Propylene Glycol also known as PG and Vegetable Glycerine also known as VG. PG is an ingredient used in e-liquids because it is a thin, colourless, and odourless liquid and is easy to handle and it’s also quick at absorbing heat which is great because it means you can begin to vape as soon as you switch on your vaping device.

E-liquids will usually come with a PG/VG mix so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds, especially if you’re still unsure on which one to choose, purchasing a combined e-liquid will help you get a feel for both PG and VG. But don’t forget, the higher percentage of VG you use will give you more cloud, but less flavour. PG can be mixed with VG. VG is a thicker liquid than PG, but this means that you can produce bigger clouds, if that’s what your goal is then this would be a good choice for you! It is also easier on the throat, so if you’re wanting something less harsh to inhale then this would be it.

Now, although some of you may want to vape just to experience all of the wonderful flavours or to create cool vape clouds, vaping is also a device used as a smoking alternative, so nicotine can also be added to your e-liquid to help you cut back on cigarettes. We know quitting smoking can be extremely hard, so choosing a strength of nicotine to add to your e-liquid is a good way to get that ‘hit’ you are craving.

There are many strengths you can choose from dependant on how many cigarettes you are used to smoking a day. On the bottle you will find how many milligrams of nicotine there is per millilitre of e-liquid. So, if you are a social smoker you should go for 3mg, a light smoker 6mg, an average smoker 12mg and if you are a heavy smoker then you should choose 18mg. Nicotine Salts (also known as nic salts or salts) are also an option which you can add to your e-liquid. These contain a higher strength of nicotine (up to 20mg) which means you will experience stronger ‘hit’. If you are interested in trying salts then you can find our full salt range here

If you find that the nicotine levels are too high for you then you should try 50-50 e-liquids. This is a half and half mix of VG and PG and will still give you that ‘hit’. We sell a wide range of flavours that you can check out here
